FAQ
Everything You Need to Know About Our Setting.
What are your opening hours?
We are open from 8:00AM to 6:00 PM, Monday to Friday, year-round, except for bank holidays and two weeks over the Christmas Period.
What age groups do you cater to?
We provide care for children aged 0-5 years or before they go to school. We recommend starting your child at nine months old, introducing childcare early can help children adjust to being in a setting away from home, making future transitions easier. A structured environment also helps establish consistent meal, nap, and play routines, making transitions smoother as they grow.
Do you have a policy for sick children?
To maintain a healthy environment, we ask that sick children stay at home until they are fully recovered. Please let us know if your child has any contagious illnesses so that if they have attended a session with us we can notify other families to be vigilant.
Some key areas of information from of our Sickness Policy includes but is not exclusive of;
Sickness & Diarrhoea - 48 Hour exclusion from the last bout of sickness / diarrhoea
Eye Infection - Can return to Nursery after 24 hours on drops
Chicken Pox - Can return to Nursery when the last spot has scabbed over
Temperature - 24 hour exclusion Policy for temperatures over 38.5oc
Antibiotics - 24-hour exclusion policy for children on antibiotics to ensure they recover at home and to monitor for any allergic reactions. This applies to children who have previously been prescribed the same antibiotic as well.
We believe that children who are unwell are best cared for at home with their families, so we do not administer Calpol to keep a child at nursery. However, in line with new Welsh Government guidelines, we keep an emergency supply of paracetamol on site. This will only be administered in cases where a child’s temperature is rapidly increasing, administering acts as a prevention of convulsions while they await collection.
Charges will still be due if your child is unwell or on holiday.
Do you have parking outside?
Yes, we do! We are based on the Cricket Field and have a large car parking facility.
This can get full up on the odd occasion there is a match during a weekday so please be aware of that in the Summer months at collection time.
What funding schemes are you signed up to?
We participate in the Childcare Offer for Wales, which provides up to 2 fully funded days during term time and up to 3 funded days for 9 weeks of the year, with parents only needing to contribute £5 per day for food.
We also accept Tax-Free Childcare, which can help working parents save money on childcare costs.
What is Tax-Free Childcare and how does it work?
Tax-Free Childcare is a UK government scheme that helps working parents pay for childcare. For every £8 you pay into your Tax-Free Childcare account, the government adds £2, up to a maximum of £2,000 per year per child (or £4,000 for children with disabilities).
What is your approach to learning?
We follow a play-based curriculum, meaning children learn through hands-on experiences, exploration, and creative play. Our activities are carefully planned to support cognitive, social, and emotional development while keeping learning fun and engaging. We focus on child-led exploration, helping little ones build confidence, independence, and a love for learning.
How do I enroll my child?
